High above the Piccadilly Valley, Sequoia Lodge is an intimate 14-suite stay surrounded by some of the Adelaide Hills’ most beautiful landscape.

There’s a quiet sense of luxury here. Stone, timber and warm earthy tones ground the interiors, while huge windows keep the valley constantly in view. Each generous suite has a king bed and fireplace, with most featuring a sunken lounge, while two accessible suites offer a level layout. Doors open onto a private balcony made for sitting back and taking it all in.

The bathroom might be one of our favourite parts. A freestanding stone bath sits beside the windows, turning a long soak into something of a ritual, especially as the light begins to soften across the hills.

Step beyond your suite and there’s even more to slow down for. Artesian spring-fed hot pools sit along the valley rim, alongside an infrared sauna and beautiful spaces designed around rest, food, wine and the landscape.

Sequoia is one of those stays where the experience begins the moment you arrive, and a lot of it is already included.

Wake slowly before heading to yoga or slipping into the hot pools while the valley comes to life below. Join a guided walk along the Heysen Trail, discover the lodge’s beehives during a hands-on beekeeping experience, or taste your way through South Australian wine and artisan produce. Then, as night settles over the hills, look to the sky during one of Sequoia’s stargazing experiences.

With more than 32 signature experiences and inclusions available across the lodge, there’s plenty to fill a weekend without ever making it feel busy. Some experiences change with the seasons, while additional private tours, spa treatments and premium experiences can be added if you want to take things a little further.

And then there’s the food. Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant sits within the wider Mount Lofty Estate, bringing beautiful South Australian produce and exceptional dining into the stay.

By the end of the day, there’s nowhere you need to be. Back to the suite. Fire on. Bath running. Something good poured. Valley lights disappearing into the night.
